Yakuza & Idols
When I was an idol otaku, I had a belief. “ It is only boy idols from the office starts from 'J' who sleep with the very important people including yakuza to get a job. Girl idols, especially musical one won't do that. Even if idol business look like a fishy job, it's a established business. It is just a silly fabricated tale.
However, last week, there were two incidents, or news, which indicate the existence of yakuza which involves in this our sacred business, and sometimes may control the innocent girls.

First, on July 26th, at apartment in Oota-ku, Tokyo, ex-gravure idol named Kimura Eri, 30 years-old, , was arrested over murder her husband. According to the police, the husband assaulted Eri under the influence and Eri stabbed him with a kitchen knife. Soon she realized she made a terrible mistake, and she tried to stop the bloodshed with an instant glue, but of course it was in vein and th e husband passed out.
It may look like a tragedy, very painful tragedy of idol girl fallen low. Especially, the part that this woman who couldn't get enought education for her porn-like job tried to cure her love with instant glue touches our heart.
However, the point is the age of her husband. He was 53 years old, and furthermore, jobless. Can a normal 53-year-old jobless person fuxk gravure idol? Well, it looks like the answer is... he is the person from the underground world who has sideline which can't be told to anybody. And furthermore, they had been in love since for 10 years since when she was an active 20-year-old idol girl. This relationship can indicate that he was a kind of patron of Eri.

Second, Nakamura Miu, needless to say,one of the most famous lolicon idol known for her extreme way of exposure , turned out that she was abducted for one week for a trouble with her relative. She had taken two month leave for a 'health problem since last November, but actually, it was this problem that made her leave.
According to an interview from Friday, Miu was taken away by this relative for over a week and was taken to some very important persons of show business. While she was at his home, a man or young woman always was always observing her and she couldn't get a chance to escape. And after her absence, her agency decided to announce her leave for a 'health problem.' According to Miu's parent, this relative decided to control all of Miu's business instead of her agency.
Then we have to thinkl ”Can a normal person abduct a girl and hire some 'observers' for such an evil purpose?” The answer is simple: yakuza can do easily. We'd better not imagine what happened to Miu while she is at his home and taken to some show business bosses for her privacy.

Anyway, these two incidents indicate, even a girl whom we watched on TV or famous magazines everyday can be under the influence of Yakuza world. I don't say everyone does , but it's definitely sure that a part of idol girls have a kind of yakuza patron.
I'd thought it was just a onanie fantasy of precocious kids that yakuza with tattoo of dragon fuck idol girls, but it looks the reality is more wilder than I'd thought. So, if you are still an idol otaku, before you get excited when you meet the girls in Akihabara, you'd better ask her or yourself - "Where did you sleep last night?"

I hope it's not widespread. Though it would be funny to see idol fans gang up on wannabe yakuza trying to abuse their Idol. Like densha otoko on a grand scale.

If some of them rescued their idol from yakuza, I think it'll ve beautiful story, too!! But I don't know what they gonna do next. Then the idol becomes just a common girl who can't work in the industry ...

Eh? I dont like wat you said about Johnny's Jimusho. -_-
They dont have to "sleep" with people in order to get an acting job, or a new gig. Their office is just good at taking care of their idols which is better than say erm... a company that starts with H.... Plus, they have star power and they are very well known.
They are also clearly more clean image wise than some girl idols. They dont have to release photobooks every other month just to get by. Plz. dont write those things cause their are different kinds of people who reads your site. You might offend some people- like me.
Anyways, I still think you're a great writer. ^^

I mean, Johny's, boys sometimes have to sleep with the president of the jimusho. Now the president is over 60 I think, so I don't think this internal casting coach is being taken place recently, but some ex-johny's stars are telling that there was at least in 80's.
And all, Of course, this entry is just a part of rumor and my idea on it, so the judgement depends on readers. If you don't believe, or don't like to believe , you can lol.

I think it was Kita Koji of the Four Leaves who wrote a book saying he was forced to sleep with J. Kitagawa. I think he was the only one who was willing to say this publicly, but weeklies have run a number anonymous interviews with other much more recent Johnnys who say basically the same thing.
The recent Yakuza-Idol scandals are nothing compared to the time in the early 80s when Kurata Mariko, who had been one the most popular singing idols, turned out to be the mistress for a yazuka. So the problem has been around for a while. Actually, it was an even bigger shock because she was an idol in the traditional sense of being surrogate friend figure for young people with no social life (there are very few of such "true" idols anymore). Ironically, Mariko now is a successful businesswoman - a youth career counselor.
The recent Yakuza-Idol scandals are nothing compared to the time in the early 80s when Kurata Mariko, who had been one the most popular singing idols, turned out to be the mistress for a yazuka. So the problem has been around for a while. Actually, it was an even bigger shock because she was an idol in the traditional sense of being surrogate friend figure for young people with no social life (there are very few of such "true" idols anymore). I'd never known about Kurata Marico, thanks for the info, skchai. It looks this Yakuza-idol relationship is kinda long-rooted one. I remember Misora Hibari, first Japanese pop enka singer after WW2 is also rumored the relationship whith Yakuzas.
