I bought two new singles released today, but my motivation to buy them paying around 1000 yens for each one was a kind of low, low , low. I didn't like both of the titled songs from these two female artists, and I just bought thinking 'its coupling may be rather than the a-side.' Then, how were they actually like?
Anna, 'Lucky Tune' (Track list)
1. Lucky Tune
2. Hoshino Kakera
3. Lucky Tune(Instrumental)
4. Hoshino Kakera(Instrumental)This is the first solo single from the vocalist from Bon-Bon Blanco, Santos Anna.
To give the conclusion first, the a-side,
'Lucky Tune' was rather than I'd expected from the preview aired as the ending of an anime show,
To-love-ru.I still don't like the too childish intro of this song, and noisy distorted guitar which spoils her voice . And as Anna answered in some interviews, she perfectly play the role of anime character in this song, and sings very cutely, like an anime character. I don't like the style, so, first 3 minutes of this song is kinda torture for an ex-Bon-Bon Blanco fan.
'It's not Anna from Bon-Bon Blanco!!' However, this song changes dynamically from 3:00. It suddenly becomes up-tempo, rap-esque music, just like 'Yura Yura Yureru' or 'Karatto Ikou -adios amigo- from Bon-Bon Blanco. Then, anime singer Anna transforms into the great and kakkoii vocalsit, Santos Anna in this moment. I really liked this part, and it turned over my prejudice on this song, but she just keep this transformation for 12 seconds, and the songs becomes irritating one again.
The flip-side,
'Hoshino kakera', is a very, very standard JPOP idol song, which only our professor Marty Friedman may be interested in and can extract the charm of this song.
In other words, It is boring for most of us. But in this song, this 20 year-old shows us her growth as a vocalist. Especially, I was impressed by her rhyming. It seems she is interested in American hip-hop or R&B and she could learn a lot from them.
So, if I rate this single out of 10 kote, this single is
7.5 kote. The miraculous 12 seconds starts from 3:00 in Lucky Tune is enough to motivate me to repeat this song twice.
Ah, I have to admit another factor which raised my rating. ITS COVER ART IS NICE!!

YA-KYIM, Super☆Looper1. Super☆Looper
2. "Sin"Kokyu
3. Can't Help But Wait – Anata ni aitakute
4. Super☆Looper(insturmental)
5. "Sin"Kokyu(instrumental)
Contrarily, even after I listened to this single over three times, I couldn't rate this song more than
6.5 kote. It seems they tried to combine march and hip-hop in this 'Super☆Looper', but it looks to me it was just a fiasco. The consecutive drum beat spoils the lively rap from miku, and kills this song in the end.
Its b-side,
"Shin" Kokyu is a song from 3rd Productions, the group of song writers which is now becoming influential in JPOP world little by little. Some may know its name via works from Aoyama Thelma.
It's still better than Super☆Looper, and just like Aoyama Thelma's works, it's a song which depicts the natural figure of Japanese women nowadays. But including Japanese cover of "
Can't help But wait" from Torey Songz', I have to ask, ''Are they the songs YA-KYIM should sing?' I'd expected YA-KYIM more unique song, better version of 'Super☆Looper', the ones like Elec-Trick or Super Star.
They moved to Warner Music Japan recently and call this single 'new start', but if they going to 'Shin Kokyu' route, I think they should turn back. Even if they felt they stumbled down, they should go to Super☆Looper, or Elec-Trick route.

To sum up, I enjoyed these two singles somehow, but if you ask if I recommend to others who are not familiar to YA-KYIM or Bon-Bon Blanco, I'll say I won't strongly. Objectively, if you have 2560 yens to buy these singles, maybe there will be more enjoyable JPOP. Both of them are kind of 'collectors item', only the fans of them should buy and find out their charm somehow.
*If somebody is interested in Anna and her music, I'll beg him to buy 30 copies to support her of course, though.
at least she doesn't ended up as 2nd kirari, lol.
Anna got different record company?
Why they didn't just recuit BBB?
I don't know, I wish this record company won't recruit Bon-Bon Blanco.
Musical staffs are bad, song writers are horrible, the jacket picture is the only admirable point lol.
I saw Ya-Kyim (really dumb name, if you ask me) perform about one year ago, when they were one of the openers for Melody, and their songs were so bad then too they left zero impression on me, I only remember that they were nifty at dancing. Seems like nothing has changed...
Looking forward to hearing Anna's song though, it's been ages since I'd heard a new song from her/BBB, I think her voice alone is worth at least 2 or 3 kotes to me, lol. Maybe this record company isn't so good but it's better than nothing...
I also watched YA-KYIM's live somewhere years ago, and they didn't left any impression, either.
But after years later, I listend to them and thought some songs are good in CD.
There are still some good songs from YA-KYIM, at least, I can listen to more than 3 times.(Elec-trick, Stand up, and so on.) I like MIKU's rapping.
Speaking of Bon-Bon Blanco's diary, although it is release date/week, the official site doesn't promote the song nor no members mention about its release in their diary.
It's strange, but it's good for Anna's carreer. I wish this 'first solo work' will become a phantom song lol.
