(the story so far)
You are an idol otaku, who loves an idol girl very much. Your idol couldn't become so popular, but you enjoyed the closest relationship with the girl you love, and it looks you are trusted by the idol girl as a kind fan..On St Valentine's day, you were given a biggest heart-shape chocolate by the girl.

One day, you witnessed an unbelievable scene. The idol girl visited your home. She was ordered to sleep with a famous producer, and she escaped from the hotel. She says: 'Please, please, escape with me!!' Yakuzas are chasing after her. What do you do??

Then you have to decide. Of course, if you are a gentleman, it goes without saying what the thing you have to do then is. But you have to consider how dark Japanese entertainment business is. When you run away, it's sure the life of you and your families will be endangered. Can you throw away everything for a girl? Is she so important to you? Aren't you just loving a idol girl from the safest point where nobody interfere you?

Well, this mental conflict is simulated in this game.


And when you couldn't stand the fear of yakuza, you dials the number of her agency while she is in the bathroom. 'Excuse me, I'm a fan named Kimoyama. Rika-san is in my house now...'

Soon, her manager and yakuzas arrives at your home, and take her to the hotel. You receive 1 million yens as a hush money, and the fingerless yakuza says: 'You know, what will happen when you tell this to somebody.' You can not forget the words the idol says when she lieves you home, with teas in her eyes: 'Betrayer... '

1 weeks later, it was announced that the idol group she belongs to will be disbanded. And soon, a local news paper reported a female high school student killed herself at her home. Later, it turns out this girl was actually a little famous idol girl who used to belonged to the group.

The last words she said haunts you and echoes in your head. 'Betrayer... betrayer... betrayer...' After you are tormented by a guilty conscience, you kill yourself by with Hydrogen sulfide gas.

What will happen when you have strong will and courage? Well, your address is known to the agency. It's not clever to stay at your home. Then you have to choose where to escape. Then, you can choose the place you have already gone to in this game.

For example, concert hall, department store, shopping mall, shibuya center-gai, Akihabara... but you have to accompany with a little famous girl. So, it's not good idea to go to the place where many people go. Akihabara is the worst, other dol otakus can discover this idol girl easily. And when you select a wrong place, you have to go to 'Killed by Yakuza' ending.

The place where the privacy is perfectly secured, and and the place where the manager can't imagine idol otaku(you) would go... The answer is, 'Love Hotel.' . It's yakuza's territory, so you think you can't stay long, but you and your idol decide to stay at love hotel for a while.

When you receive the key from a bending machine and see her face in profile lighten by a suggestive pink light in the hotel, your heart beats. But you are gentleman. You give the bed to the girl and sleep on the floor.

But of course, you can't sleep. At midnight, she talks to you, 'Are you still awake?' Then she starts to talk about the details of the tragedy happened last night.

She says,
'I was shocked when I was told I have to sleep with Akimoto... because I'm ... virgin.'
'Kimoyama-san, when I was a little girl, I had two dreams. One, to become idol. Two, to love only one guy in my life. It looks I have to give up the first one, but I still have the second one.'

You just listen to her with closing your eyes, but next, you'll hear the sound she stands up, and some clothes fall on the floor. '...Kimoyama-san, It can't be else but you. Make me an adult ...'

Now we could know about 10 kinds of goals of this video game. (4 bad endings, 1 normal, and 5 happy endings.) However, some video game players who love this genre (what is called gal-game or ero-game) may think, 'Can't I fall in love with idol girls??'

If it were in reality. I just say, 'Absolutely Impossible.' However, as I repeat in this series, this is just a game. So, I say, Barely Possible. And this ending to fall in love with idol girl is the most difficult ending to see, and you have to be acquainted to this game. But I'm introducing this video game for over one month here. So I think for readers of this series, it won't be so hard to see this Special Ending.

The road to Special Ending consists of some 'irregular events.' They were like hurdles which separate you from your idol, and you have to go through them somehow until the goal.

Irregular Event #3 Happy Merry Christmas

On Christmas day, you think of sending a Christmas gift to your idol as a token of your love. Luckily, on this special the idol you like holds a handshake event at an amusement park in Odaiba. Then you go to the amusement park, and support the idol you love. Seeing a lot of otakus gathered at the amusement park on the Christmas day, other people at the venue, couples and families, laughed at you. But you don't have to care, because you are just loving a woman in a different way from them.


Then, the handshake time comes, and you give the gift to the idol. She just says' Arigatou gozaimasu~(thank you)', and in the very next time she starts to talk with other guy, but you are satisfied with what you did.

This is the first step. This event must not be so difficult to see. The things you have to care are money and love, just like many people in the world before Christmas. When your love is not enough, please do onanie before Christmas comes. But you also have to watch out: Don't make girlfriends before Christmas Day. When you have girlfriend, she appears to spoil your idol love and just boring date starts. To make the matter worse, you can't choose Love Hotel then. (It's very busy on this day in Japan.)

It's two months after the Chrismas, it's St Valentine's Day. You don't have girl friends (*See the requirements of the Christmas Event), so chocolate exchanging is not your business. However, when you back to your home alone, without any chocolates, you find a package. Amazingly, it is a V-day gift from your idol!! As a return of your Christmas gift, she sent a chocolate back to you.

The size of the chocolate you receive depends of the 'Love' parameter of the idol girl. When the idol's love is under 10, it'll be a just candy with a card wish just ' thanks.'


But the more the idol love , the bigger the chocolate becomes. And when the love becomes more than 70, it becomes handmade one. And when the love is more than 90, you can get 'honmei' (favorite) chocolate, with the longest letter to you.

To experience both of two irregular events, and to get 'honmei chocolate' from the idol girl are the minimum requirements to go to the Special Ending.

On the last day of this video game, the miracle happens. It is raining hard. When you come back to your home at night, you saw a woman who is leaning on a telegraph poll in front of your house, without using umbrella. Amazingly, it was she.

While you are playing this the IDOL OTAKU M@STER and repeating ordinary 'Daily Mode' and 'Event Mode', sometimes, you will be interrupted by some unfamiliar messages, instead of the one you see every day.

This is what is called 'Irregular events'. When your character and your idol's status are sufficient for the requirements for these events, this mode starts, and you can enjoy the irregular situation in your otaku life this game.

Not only this irregular Events prevent this game from being mannerism, but some happy endings we've not experienced yet are related to these 'irregular events'. Today, I'd like to introduce some of these irregular events, and the irregular happiness of idol otakus.

Irregular Event#1 Wota-gei Night Fever

Of all idol otaku culture, what intrigued you the most was the bizarre dance of fans held at a concert hall called ota-gei. You enjoyed them very much, and learned almost all otageis existing. It seems your greatest wota-geis are recognized by other wota-gei lovers.

One day, when you check out the comments of your blog, you find a comment from an unfamiliar person. It was the invitation to the event, called 'Wota gei Night Fever.' Some people thought of selecting the greatest wota-gei dancer in this country through a contest held at a club in Shinjuku. You were selected to this event as a contender.

You can choose whether you attend to this contest or not. When you attend to this contest, then the mini-game of concert in event mode starts, and if you could mark the best score of all, you can win at this Wota-gei Night Feever, and can become the Wota-gei Kingr in this country.


And when you could win, you can choose whether you continue this game or not. If you quit this game here, you can see another happy ending. (When you don't quit, your fame will rise greatly.)

Now you became the wota gei dancer. Some of wota gei combo you invented was named after your name, and as long as idol otaku culture continues, your name and achievement will last forever.

The regrettable point of 'Normal Ending' was no matter the player support the group as a fan in this game, the idol group had to disband. So, the road to the happy ending begins here. How can an otaku make an idol girl famous?

Happy Ending #1 'National Idol'

When you saw this ending, the idol you love is no longer the one you can shake hands with. The idol you used to love became the first national idol in 10 years after Morning Musume. They are very busy and it's difficult to see their live concerts recently. But you are not lonely.

When you turn on the TV, they are always appearing on some shows almost everyday. When you walk about the town, they are always smiling in a lot of ad posters, and you can listen their songs everywhere in this country. With the sweetest memories of their indy era, and a little confidence that you made them famous, you smile to them across the TV screen, and say, 'ganbare!!'

As you can see, the point is just make the 'Fame' of idol girl more than 70. So, to promote them as a fan, you will have to choose 'blog' and 'fan site' frequently in Daily Mode. (*I don't think blogging or fan site is so effective in reality, but it's just a game. )

Some types of idol otaku may not agree, but for idol groups, this Happy Ending#1 is the best realistic ending of all idol groups debute in this country. But now this THE IDOL OTAKU M@STER gives you more attractive fantasy.

Happy Ending#2 'Idol Producer'

Now your idol goes beyond the level the national idol, and now it is going to become an international idol which people in the world admire. But fans in the world know, there was a very important person who brought them to the top of the world. IT'S YOU.

Your continuous and devoted support as a fan lead the group to the top. Hearing the rumor of this hidden idol producer, an idol agency hires you as an idol producer to organize a new idol group. You feel a little guilty that you betray the idols you love, but at the same time, feel the excitement to fight against them, and you accept the offer.

And in this ending, it turns out this THE IDOL OTAKU M@STER was actually the prologue of anohter famous video game.

It's more difficult than #1. Not only fame of idols, You have to grow up your character's intelligence, sociability, charisma, and your fame to become a charismatic idol procudcer. Not only blogging and updating fansite, you have to comunicate other otakus and raise your fame. Especially, do not forget about going to Shibuya. It's the only way to raise your charisma for idol otakus in this game.

These two happy endings are goals of idols in this games. But it isn't so different from THE IDOL M@STER.. This OTAKU M@STER is the simulation of Idol otaku life. So, there is one happy ending which can be a symbol of this game, the one which reflects the theme of this game the most.

Happy Ending#3 'THE IDOL OTAKU M@STER

Strangely may it seem, but after you finished a year in this game, it was YOU, not the idol girl you love, who became famous in this country. Whenever you visit an idol concert, you are surrounded by the smiles from your otaku friends. Some began to call you and your friends '(yourname) troop.' When you heard the news that your favorite idol group kaisans, you thought of retiring from idol world, but all your friends persuade you not to leave. Then, you decide, you will find another group to support with your friends, as a leader of your troop.


Important Actions
blogging, wota gei, Event mode (all), play with otaku
Maximum sociability and fame are required. But as a leader of otaku troup, you have to master at least 10 kinds of wota-geis. You have to choose 'wota gei' practice as well as blogging and playing with your friends. But when the fame of the idol group is too high, automatically it goes to #1 or #2. So, you have to control it carefully.

These three happy endings are, very orthodox and ideal one the only player played this game just a s it is designed. However, to make idol famous and to make yourself famous is the only way to enjoy this game – or, happiness of idol otakus? I don't think so.

There are some irregular happy endings, which don't depend on parameters so much but depend on your selection of the actions itself. And in these endings, we can see anther merriment of idol otaku world. In the next entry, I'd like introduce these irregular happines of idol otakus described in this game.

Now you spent 365 days as an idol otaku. You may reproach yourself for the wasteful days in your 20s, but don't look back in anger. It's just a game. Maybe 24 hours in your life are just required to complete this game. Must be shorter than the time you waste your youth for Final Fantasy.

How was your life as an otaku in this game? And how will your future become?

The status of your alter-ego and idols in this game will determine everything. First of all, I'd like to introduce Normal Ending, which many players play this game first will see.

Normal Ending 'Good bye otaku world..'

Regardless of your support, your idol couldn't become famous in one year after their debut. Ruthlessly, the agency ordered them to disband the group. You were shocked, but you also think, you have already enjoyed the idol culture and you are already enough old to graduate from this creepy idol otaku world. Then you decide to make this idol group the last idol group you love. On the last day, you and your favorite idol group attend the last kaisan concert. After the party, with a little regret, you leave from the idol world.


There are some variations differ along with the status of 'Fame.' When the fame is lower than 30, the kaisan concert is held at an electric appliance shop in Akihabara, but you can shake hands with idol girls in the last moment and say good bye, directly. (Normal Ending #1.1)

When the fame is higher than 30, the kaisan concert will be held at a small live house. (Normal Ending #1.2). But when the fame is higer than 50, there won't be handshakes.(Normal Ending #1.3). And some words they say in this concert will change according to how much they love you.

If you play this game with the guidance for beginners, it won't so be difficult to reach at this ending. As you can see, in a sense, this result is also a good one. You enjoyed your life as an otaku, and you simply retire with the girls you love.
